River Place is a wonderful neighborhood in the Lake Travis area that may be the perfect next home for you. This area features a master-planned community with over 1,000 homes situated here. It’s right on the northwest edge of the city of Austin where you’ll find the hillside and a neighborhood golf courses lining the shores of Lake Austin. It’s really a highly desirable area to live for many because it offers something different than your typical downtown Austin experience.

The story behind River Place

What is the story behind this beautiful neighborhood with the hill country views, Lake Austin waterfront, and country club lifestyle? River Place started out small and quiet back in the 90’s when hardly anyone knew about it.

It started to grow and gain popularity and today, the growth is evident in this massively popular neighborhood. What started out small and quiet has grown into a highly desirable neighborhood full of homes, apartments, office space, hotels, dining, shopping, and schools.

Living in River Place

The area now referred to as Four Points features single family homes and apartments. Live along the peaceful streets featuring a large variety of home styles that are as old as the early 90s and as modern as being built in 2012. You can live here for as low as $300k but plan to pay much more if you want those picturesque views and more privacy. There are million dollar homes here with views of the Lake.

What to expect

Living in River Place comes with great amenities and attractions. There are so many places to eat, shop, and be entertained. It’s such a short drive to downtown making it easy to shop and dine right there. Many people make the 10 minute drive to the Arboretum, The Domain, the Lakeline Mall, and arbor Walk. You’ll find your basics like Walmart, Target, and Home Depot all within a short distance.

You’ll likely spend the weekends dining at your favorite Austin stops like Rudy’s barbeque, Torchy’s for tacos, and more located along the Trails at 620. Right at the neighborhood entrance is Salsas Mexican Cantina and Black Walnut Café. Of course you could join the River Place Country Club and enjoy members-only dining.

If you’re looking for some fun recreation, why not walk your dog around the neighborhood and take in the views of the Texas Hill Country? There are so many parks and nature preservers in the area that you’ll never run out of places to walk. Check out all of the walking paths near your home or head over to the Sun Tree Park and Woodlands Park for even more beautiful views. The kids will love the playgrounds while you enjoy the park’s grills for a barbeque.

Your country club will also offer all of the recreation you need, from tennis courts to fitness classes, massage therapy, and even personal training.

Schools & Community

The neighborhood, located at the entrance of 2222, is also near great schools for your kids. Check out the Leander ISD schools such as River Place Elementary, Four Points Middle School, or Vandergrift High School. The area is really a big community of great people that take pride in their homes and all have a like-minded appreciation for staying active.
