Lake Travis Summer Movie Series Choices
Lake Travis is already the best place to hang for the summer, but now there’s another reason to enjoy it. The Summer Movie Series is returning which means you’re going to enjoy movies in the park and dive-in movies by the pool under the stars all summer long. What better way to spend a summer evening than outside with friends catching the latest flicks and enjoying a cold beverage?
Summertime is already a magical time of year where kids enjoy ing in, spending more time with you and their friends, and everyone getting some time in the pool. The break from the school week chaos is always much-needed and now you can even get a break from the typical movie theater madness on weekend nights. Instead of your old dinner and a movie night, take the whole family to a movie in the park or a movie in the pool in Lake Travis enjoying this summer’s favorites like The Good Dinosaur and Minions.
Dive-In Movies
You ready that right. Dive-In Movies are happening Lake Travis this summer and it’s something truly unique. Your kids will get a huge kick out of the option to watch a movie right from the swimming pool. You don’t have to change out of your swim trunks or put away the pool floats; instead, point your eyes towards the big screen while you keep enjoying the water.
Where is this happening? You can catch movies on Friday nights at The Lakeway Swim Center near the World of Tennis to enjoy it all summer break. The kids return to school in August and the last showing is Friday August 5th when you can enjoy The Good Dinosaur.
Catch Curious George 2: Back To The Jungle, Rated G, on July 22nd over at the Swim Center. The address is 3103 Lakeway Blvd and you’ll get to catch the movies at 8:30pm while swimming in the pool for just $3 per person. Previously show this summer was SpongeBob and Cinderella, all movies with a G or PG rating.
Movies in the park
For a dryer movie screening, you’ll love a visit to the Lakeway City Park this summer in Lake Travis. Located at 502 Hurst Creek Road, this park is featuring the Movie in the Park series for residents this summer. It started on June 17th with a showing of Shaun The Sheep. July will bring a showing of the Minions on July 15th, Norm of the North on July 29th, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 on August 12th.
The movies start at 8:45pm but you can get there early to get a great spot. Just bring your blankets or lawn chairs, bring a snack, and leave the dog at home for a fun night with the whole family. You’ll also be able to purchase snacks while you’re there.
The only other rules at Theater Under the Stars is that you setup lawn chairs along the outside and blankets can go on the inside for the best viewing for all and keep your flashlights or other glowing items off during the show. All of the movies this summer are rated PG.
